Judging quality

The curved rhombohedral faces are diagnostic. Look for pearly lustre and clean undamaged crystal groups; Spanish Eugui dolomite is the reference.

The mineral, the rock and the Dolomite mountains are all named for the French geologist Deodat de Dolomieu.
